Mage App:
Name: Blake Dibraye
Age: 32
Gender: Male
Nationality: American
Appearance: Standing at 5’4”, Blake has a bit of a scrawny frame. His hair is black, losing its sheen, and despite his age, starting to grey. It’s unkempt and covers his left eye. He has stubble that gives him a seemingly permanent 5 o’clock shadow. His eyes are a mid-tone grey and his skin is pale. He wears a black trenchcoat with red trim that falls to his knees, black sweatpants, and an old, worn-down pair of metal-toed black boots, notably warm clothing to be wearing in New Mexico.
Personality: Despite his marital status, Blake… isn’t the most sociable of people. Not to say he’s a complete piece of work, but it’d be unreasonable to expect any sort of friendly banter with this guy. He’s quite humorless, brief, glum, somewhat morbid, and not one for pleasantries.
Basically, I just tried to write this entire personality section without saying “TAR’s finally writing a proper edgelord, roll up to see the dumpster fire.”
Backstory: A rather famous name in certain magic circles, the Dibraye lineage is rumored to have some of the most powerful magic of the current era. However, the rumors are exactly that: rumors. That doesn’t stop the members of the Dibraye lineage from going into hiding among the general populace, as those who take stock in such gossip have a tendency to want them eliminated in the case that they would be chosen for a Grail War. Blake is, or rather was, one such man in hiding.
Before the trip to Dust Springs for the Grail War, Blake lived in New York City with his wife Nancy and his now thirteen-year-old daughter Sarah, blending in quite well with the general populace. Due to certain circumstances, the family… well… it exists? Frequent arguments broke out between Nancy and Blake, Sarah usually being the subject. Soon (though not as soon as you would think), Blake found himself removed from the situation, leaving Nancy to take care of Sarah alone. A few months after that, he received the call to attend the Grail War. And here he is.
It’s any wonder Nancy hasn’t filed for divorce.
Magical Abilities: Other than having some control of Rider, Blake is able to make weapons appear and disappear at will from thin air, his favorites being butterfly knives. He’s also able to increase both his reaction speed and his physical speed using magic.
Motivation for Fighting:
Servant App:
Class: Rider
Age: 30
Gender: Male
Appearance: Rider stands at 5’10”, with a slightly muscular stature. His skin is a little bit dark. He has short, blue hair matted to his head except for two cowlicks in the front that curl straight up. He wears a blue dress shirt with a navy blue cravat tucked in. He also wears an aqua green cape with navy blue circular designs on it, not unlike a peacock’s tailfeathers. There’s an X-shaped fixture underneath the cravat to keep the cape in place. His pants are baggy and blue, with aqua green trimming, and he wears blue shoes that curl upward at the toe.
Rider’s mount is an Asian War Elephant that stands at exactly 10 feet tall. The elephant is equipped with two blades attached to the tusks, a heavy flail around the trunk, and ornate armor along the flanks, back, head, and shins. The armor is colored a slightly deep blue with aqua green trimming.
Personality: Rider is a lot more outgoing than Blake, often providing reason when his angst gets to be too much, even if he’s inevitably a little behind with the times. He’s not a fan of violence at all, much preferring peaceful resolutions, but will get down and dirty if push comes to shove.
Weapons and Abilities: Rider wields a weapon called a ngao, a polearm that features a curved blade at the end of the pole. The blade is sharper on the inside curve than the outside, and has irregular serrations. The pole on this particular ngao measures roughly eight feet, and features a counterbalance in the shape of an elephant head on the end opposite the blade.
Rider also has command over most animals, and theoretically could change his mount to any sort of animal that could support his weight. Elephants just happen to be his favorite.
Motivation for Fighting: It appears he doesn’t really have one beyond being Blake’s ticket into the Grail War. However, he’s quite interested in Blake himself, and hopes he succeeds with his own motivation… whatever it may be.
