Gwenderlocke - A Pokemon Tale Because there aren't enough already... ---------------
What is this? - This is a log documenting a Wonderlocke run of Pokemon Omega Ruby as one of my RP characters, Gwendalyn Summers. That's... really it. I'm not going to post the entire thing in one post, for obvious reasons. Instead, I'll likely only log one or two events at a time in a single post, so it'll kind of be like a one-person RP. This, in theory, will make it easier for people to keep track of locations, what's going on, what they've already read, etc. Plus, I encourage you guys to react to stuff along the journey (even if it's just for validation purposes seeing as TAR is best most attention whore confirmed), so it'll be easier for me to see that.
The rules I'm using are in the solo-writing channel on the VN Discord, but I may as well copy-paste them here.
-Standard Nuzlocke rules apply. I can only catch the first encounter in any given area, and a Pokemon that faints is considered "dead" and cannot be used. However, instead of keeping the encountered Pokemon, I Wonder Trade it out for a new one and use that instead.
-Nickname clause will not come into effect, seeing as most Pokemon in the Wonder Trade bubble aren't nicknamed. Duplicate clause will come into effect, because, how interesting is a team consisting entirely of Linoones and Mightyenas, really? In addition, there will be a level clause that dictates that any Pokemon received that are unusable due to Gym Badge limitations will be retraded. (Although most Pokemon in the bubble are Lv. 1-5 so this shouldn't be an issue.)
-Pokemon-Amie benefits will be disabled, however, Super Training will still be allowed.
That's all I have outlined at the moment. Seeing as I've hardly ever played any Gen 3 games, I don't really know what to expect, so additional stuff will be added as needed. Now, to venture into the wonderful world of Pokemon!

It Begins: -----------
A shaky, unfocused video starts recording. The camera adjusts to the low light, and the subject comes into focus. A figure becomes clear: female, with tanned skin, pink eyes, and perfect, golden blonde hair done in a single waist-length braid. Her arms are outstretched as she tries to hold her phone's camera in place. To anyone who pays special attention to the hip-and-happening, this face is instantly recognizable as one Miss UV Brite, a pop star who rose up to fame not too long ago.
"Yoooo, everyone!" She greets her phone. She was livestreaming to a big social media site right now; thousands, potentially millions of eyes would be on her right now. "Guess who, and guess where! That's right! UV's on tour right now! Check it out!" She faced her camera elsewhere, bringing nothing but a flash of light. A window. To anyone paying close attention during the swivel, they'd note that UV was residing in a luxury limousine at the time of recording. "I'm going on a grand tour of the Hoenn region, and I'm not planning on leaving any stone unturned!" UV's voice was heard as the camera's light adjusted again and several different kinds of Pokemon sped by the window. The camera turned back to her face.
"So listen up, people! Anyone in Hoenn who wants to see me, I'll probably get to your town eventually! I've got a good friend who's stationing me in Littleroot, and we have a route all planned out! Who knows? I might even try for a few Gym Badges along the way! Oooooh! You might even be looking at your new Champion! Wouldn't that be something else?!" UV wasn't exactly green when it came to Pokemon training. She dabbled in it a little bit before deciding to pursue her pop career. Seeing as everything in society these days revolve around Pokemon, it was sort of a necessary trait to be successful.
"I'll even be giving away a few Pokemon while I'm having my fun. Who's going to get them? Who knows?! But rest assured, you'll know it if you get one of mine! Probably. Anyways! I got a big tour in front of me, so hopefully, I'll see you all later! Buh-byyyyeeeee!" A few taps of her phone later, and UV had stopped her recording. Her real name was Gwendalyn Summers, although there weren't too many people in the world that knew that much. Even most of her higher-ups preferred to call her 'Miss Brite.'
"Okay, that's done. How much longer is it going to be? I don't want SD to get impatient, not that I think that's a problem or anything."
"We're very nearly there." The chauffeur replied in a near monotone. "It should be no longer than two minutes."
"Great! How do I look?" Gwendalyn seemed to forget that she just shot that video.
"Absolutely stunning, Miss Brite." It didn't even look like the driver took his eyes off the road in front of him. Nonetheless, Gwen was contented. As the limo pulled through into Littleroot Town, the chauffeur opened the door for Gwendalyn.
The star had made her debut.

Littleroot Town: -----------------
As soon as Gwendalyn exited the limo, a small flock of fans started gathering to take photos. Gwendalyn gladly obliged, hoping this process wouldn't take too long. There was a reason she had chose Littleroot Town to kick things off. That reason being, it was quite small, meaning this phase of being in the city would be relatively quick, in theory. She scanned the crowd in front of her, searching for a certain figure. After a short while of hunting, she found who she was looking for: a young woman wearing all white, with obnoxiously long pink hair.
"Okay! Okay! I think that's enough! There's plenty of pictures of me to go around on the Internet! I need to see a friend now!" A few people lowered their cameras at a time. After roughly five minutes, the entire crowd dissipated, leaving only the pink-haired woman. Gwendalyn rushed over to her...
...And trapped her in a death lock of a hug.
"Aaaaaah! SD, I haven't seen you in so long! How've you been, girl?" Gwendalyn released her grip slightly, if only because she realized how much SD had tensed up. Her eyes started darting every which way as she awkwardly hugged the blonde superstar back. She decided enough was enough and started gently pushing Gwendalyn away.
"I've told you before. I'm just Aya now." The pink-haired woman spoke, her voice soft and gentle, almost whimsical. "Though I agree. It's good to see you again. It appears I was better prepared to assist Professor Birch than to be famous like you. Now, please come inside here." Aya gestured toward a building which seemed to be her house. Gwendalyn entered, and somehow, she knew the inside would be plain. The television and a single digital clock were the only objects mounted on the walls, there was a single sofa, and on a table there was some music player that softly played some dubstep song Gwendalyn didn't recognize.
"You're welcome at any time to rest here, if you need it. We have a bed prepared for you upstairs."
"Thanks! You're the best, Ess-... Aya. Sorry. Force of habit, y'know?" It was about that moment when Gwendalyn felt something cold brush against her leg, and let out a small yelp as a shiver went up her spine. Curiosity got the better of her and she had to look to see what that was. She saw a small, white and grey Pokemon with a large head and stubby limbs. It also seemed to lack a mouth and stared back up at her with giant, blue eyes. An Aron. "Oh! Sorry, little guy! Didn't mean to startle ya!"
"Oh, that's Scrap. He shouldn't give you too many problems, although he seems to take a particular interest in your shoes. Perhaps he's interested in the tiny metallic specks that make them sparkle like that...?"
"Well, tell him my adorable shoes aren't an appetizer! You know how they get!" Gwendalyn was hardly surprised. Steel was always Aya's favorite type of Pokemon. And for what it was worth, Aron was surprisingly cute. "Anyways, thanks for the offer, Aya, but I'm not gonna get anywhere just lounging around listening to... whatever this is. I've got a tour to complete! Though... I suppose I'd better hit up Birch's place and get a Pokemon, huh? I didn't bring any with me, after all..."
"...You didn't? Didn't you say you were going to-"
"Yeah, I know what I said. I'm giving away Pokemon. I never said they were mine." Gwendalyn interrupted.
"So you're just going to go out and catch Pokemon wild and trade them?"
"That's the plan! What are you getting at?"
"Don't you think that's-" Aya started before Gwendalyn cut her off again.
"Listen. I know it might sound mean, but you wouldn't just give Scrappy there to any Joe Schmoe, right? Besides, it's not about what you get in the end. It's about the experience! It's about the connection! It's about being able to say, 'I traded Pokemon with UV Brite once!' Anyways, like I said, I got big days ahead of me! It was great chatting and catching up, but I gotta skedaddle! Laaaateeeers!"
And so Gwendalyn stepped back outside into town, although a few steps later, she ended up bumping into a young man. His hair was black, though his hat was worn in such a way that it could be believed that he had white hair, and he had a fair complexion. Gwendalyn's rose-colored specs nearly got knocked off her forehead.
"Ah, I'm- I'm so sorry! I- You... You're..." He had a hard time finding the words he wanted to use.
"I'm... something? Oh man! The suspense is killing me!" Gwendalyn started fanning her face.
"You're... that singer, right? Miss Brite?"
"Yup! That's me! And you are...?"
"Me? I'm Brendan. I can't believe I'm seeing you in person right now... Aah! But enough about that! My Dad just called, and he wants me to help out with his research!" Brendan started toward Aya's house, tapped on her window a few times, then made a few frantic gestures. Aya turned her head, but merely seemed confused as to what was happening. Probably. With Aya, it was hard to tell sometimes. Soon, though, Aya had made her way out, and started to follow Brendan. Not one to be left behind, Gwendalyn followed suit.
"Hey, wait up! I need to see him, too, y'know!"

Gwendalyn Finally gets a Pokemon: --------------------------------------
Gwendalyn took a while to catch up to Aya and Brendan, and the sight that she saw... wasn't pretty. The Professor was begin chased down by a number of wild Pokemon. All of them were Poochyenas, and there were three in total.
Isn't it funny how life works out sometimes? Aya and Brendan had already gotten Pokeballs out of a briefcase nearby, leaving only one left. Brendan seemed to be in control of a small orange bird, with flamelike plumage on its head, whilst Aya had a blue axolotl at her beck and call. Which meant the last one...
Gwendalyn reluctantly threw the Pokeball on the ground, and a mass of red plasma emerges from the open ball. The plasma started to take form, growing thin arms, legs, an oddly-shaped head, and a large tail. A creature emerged from this plasma, with a sickly green hue. Of course it had to be Treecko. The gecko looked toward Gwendalyn for a command.
"Okay... you're a Treecko, so... Pound that pooch in the middle!" Gwendalyn commanded. The gecko swiftly sprinted toward the mass of Poochyenas and batted aside the middle one with its impressive tail.
"Torchic, it's up to you! Scratch the Poochyena on the right to distract it!" Brendan called and the chick obeyed, jumping on top of its target and raking its small talons all down its back.
"Mudkip, Water Gun. To the left." Aya's Mudkip held its mouth agape and shot a pressurized blast of water toward the Poochyena on the left.
Now, the mass of Poochyenas were understandably upset, and they weren't going quietly. Each one turned toward its respective assailant, bared their fangs and charged headlong into them. Brendan's Torchic was quick enough on its feet to start fleeing the scene, and Aya kept ordering her Mudkip to keep it at range, but Gwendalyn's Treecko wasn't so lucky. The Poochyena that Treecko attacked lunged toward him and pinned him to the ground.
If Gwendalyn seemed to be struggling, in her defense, it had been a while.
Gwendalyn watched the rest of the combatants. Aya and Brendan had both dealt with their target, as evidenced by one Poochyena running away with singed fur, hard as it was to tell with the dark fur. The other had just become so soaked that it just gave up.
"Don't worry, Treecko! Pound again!" This time, Treecko gave the dark dog some form of desperate haymaker, seeing as there wasn't much else he could do from his position. The pooch, though, would not give up, although a couple of Absorbs would teach it otherwise. Gwendalyn looked around once the final Poochyena fled, noting the lack of both Aya and Birch.
"So let me guess-"
"Aya escorted the Professor back to his lab. I'm just glad he's okay... Let's go join him, UV!"
"Alright, I guess I can't say no!" Gwendalyn let Brendan lead the way back to the Lab.

So this is as good a place as any, I guess. I'm just letting you know that I'm going on vacation for about a week, so don't expect to see me a whole ton.
