Neutral Zone - Chatalian's Temple
As you head towards the floating KYSERO party orb, you find yourself approaching a large, worn out temple, with large statues of fearsome Chatalian warriors flanking it on either side. This is the Training Grounds for the game, the only area in the Neutral Zone where combat is allowed. Inside the temple is a large arena where the tutorial takes place, along with any other practice rounds the players choose. Temples similar to these are also located in the spawn areas of each team.
KYSERO's orb is floating just outside, and a moment later, a furious red-faced human Mercenary bursts through the temple doors, closely followed by a short human no taller than a child, a sniper rifle larger than they were slung across their back. The diminutive sniper shakes their head, and the Mercenary swears loudly.
"Fuck this man, that was bullshit!" Cried the Mercenary.
"Git gud scrub; you're holding up the next in line," Replied the Sniper with a wry smile.
The Mercenary vanishes in a white flash, but not before throwing a middle finger in the Sniper's direction.
The KYSERO orb slowly descends until it's floating over the Sniper's head. They glance around.
"So who's next?"
Sector 11 - The Canyon
You stand on the edge of a large, massive canyon, orange and red stones filling the eye's view. On the surface, little seems to be happening, but down in the canyon itself, there's action aplenty as GEM LIZARDS and SAND LIONS prowl the cliff-side. Once one jumps into the depths of the Canyon, the only way out is to fight your way to one of the EXIT SLOPES on either side.
You see the target in the distance-- A massive triangular ship, jutting out of the canyon like a shark's fin as it glides through the earth. You hear the sound of explosions echo in the distance as a group of players charge towards it in a 4-man jeep, drawing the fire of the GATLING GUNS whilst a 2-Man Chopper peppers the ship from afar. Unfortunately for them, the Jeep suddenly runs into a TRAP-- A STEALTH MINE that blows the vehicle sky high, eliminating all 4 players inside. With nothing to distract it, the Chopper is quickly taken down by the Fortress's guns. It seems this raid met with an unfortunate end, but hey, now you know.
A red line appears in the sand before you, and a notice pops up in front of your face:

Iphi decided to politely ignore the end of Jiae's statement and just respond to the portion that... mattered, giving her a nod.
"I mean, I agree! It's as good a plan as any. My main concern is finding people, you know. Separate the wheat from the chaff. That's a part that I... thought through less, admittedly."

~xXxRE4PERxXx777~ looked at the notice and scoffed.
"Pfft. A party? Why would I want to do that? Of course I'd like to continue!"
She clicked yes on the menu.
"Bring it on, scrubs."

The Gunslinger surveyed the crowd before her. There'd have to be some able-bodied person, people, or peoples around to help her fight that dastardly fiend. Groups would be for the best. More people can cover more ground. Of course, if they were spies, that'd be all the worse for her. But she had to take gambles every now and then, or else she'd never get any closer to eliminating the day's enemy.
There appeared to be a group forming consisting of a cat lady, a suspicious-looking girl, and a robot with a beard. Seemed like a ragtag band of misfits, maybe meeting for the first time now. Less chance of backstabbing with a group that only just met, probably. Unless that was exactly what they wanted people to think. She'd have to gamble on the fact that it wasn't a double bluff.
She sauntered up to them, menacing glare still on her face, twirling the gun on her finger slowly.

Jiae turned to the Gunslinger. Just like with the other two members of her group, Jiae immediately sensed an aura of cuteness that was literally impossible to ignore. Yes... This was exactly how it was supposed to turn out. She had already taken note of how two other people had approached her very soon after Jiae had started hitting on someone... Of course! Clearly she had made them all JEALOUS, and that was the greatest plan ever that had totally worked in her favor. Again, she needed to be careful to make sure her charm didn't cause battles over her or something. Wouldn't want anyone to get hurt!
"Welcome to my harem of cute people, I'm Jiae, but I bet you already knew that. You're free to join!" Jiae said to the Gunslinger, her arms outstretched as if expecting an embrace that... Probably wasn't going to happen, but let her have this moment of self-delusion.

The Gunslinger continued glaring. The suspicious one was already welcoming her into their little gang of sorts, and seemed to be offering a hug or something. Her suspicion bristled. Not only was this one shady right off the bat, she was already asking her to join despite not knowing a thing about her. Maybe she had some sort of superweapon, or was working with the rat bastards below as part of a trap, and so didn't need to worry about any possible dangers.
The hug was more suspicious still. It was exactly what some sort of hired gun might pull as a ruse. Had they already caught onto her and put an assassin right in the group they knew would catch her attention? They were getting too crafty. Already they had control of all the land, now they were getting the people too. It wouldn't be long before they were all under the sand's control. She'd take another gamble.
She narrowed her glare while staring directly at Jiae, uttering a single word. "Team?"

Iphigenia pondered if it were physically possible for her face to get any redder. She tried to muster some sort of rebuttal but all she could manage was inarticulate sputtering. Why had it turned out this way? Why?
But while she was trying to determine the best method of escape, she heard the newcomer throw a proverbial life-preserver.
She looked directly at the new arrival, hoping that they wouldn't take any visible blushing as meaning anything (it's not like it did after all), cleared her throat, and tried to regain her composure.
"So, yeah! I decided we should make a team. You know the rumors of the "PKer" going around? I wanted to investigate that and these two have been kind enough to offer to help!"
Good. To-the-point, articulate, you didn't stumble over yourself once. See Iphi? You can do this.

Beef just kinda stood around.
The other two seemed intent on calling for even more team mates which at this point didn't matter to much to Beef.
If she joined? Great, I'm sure she's rife with things to talk about. If she doesn't? Eh, we got a party of 3 already, no biggy.
No Beef was more occupied with something else. His legs were starting to hurt.
Not wanting to put out his chair just yet, since the team might be moving out soon, he simply elects to the quickest and easiest route.
Just kinda sitting right on down were he's standing.

Sector 11 - Canyon
A wall of red light springs up behind you, letting you know that there's no backing out now. The mission is begun.
The Moving Fortress rides through the canyon below a good distance away-- Far enough that you havent yet entered its notice. Wreckage of countless vehicles surround it. Glancing down into the Canyon below you see scattered gear, Ammo/Gas, and Health Packs below, presumably from fallen players; but nearby lurk several of the vicious beasts waiting below.
That's all you can make out from where you currently stand.

Jiae reluctantly let her arms drop down when it became clear that the Gunslinger wasn't going to accept her offer for a hug. This was incredibly sad, but Jiae was pretty sure that she was being shy and would quickly warm up to her. One day she was sure that she would change her mind. Maybe even today!
It was kind of amazing how Jiae and the Gunslinger had both totally misinterpreted the situation in entirely different ways. Was this group really going to be alright...? It would be interesting, if nothing else.
"Yeah, like Iphi said, we're looking for info on the PKer. You're welcome to join us! A group of four is pretty ideal, actually, since if we have to go to another zone, my jeep can fit up to four people. Speaking of which, I wonder if it's possible to get a vehicle that can carry even more people..." Jiae said. She had actually managed to say something relatively serious that probably wouldn't embarrass Iphi this time! ... Of course, her opinion would probably take a sharp turn if she managed to gather than Jiae was mostly curious about vehicles that could carry more people on the basis that Jiae expected her harem to get even larger. She'd probably need a vehicle that could carry about a hundred people, at least.
Well, that was in the future, anyway. As for now?
"If you're fine with all of that, I'll add you to our party now. You'll fit right in! ... Oh, what can we call you?" Jiae asked, giving the Gunslinger a wink.
Jiae reached out to touch the Gunslinger's face in order to send the party invite.

The Gunslinger accepted the invite somewhat reluctantly. The hired gun had her chance to take her down right then and there, and yet, chose not to. Maybe she was biding her time to get her guard down. There was no way she'd let that happen. She'd have to continue keeping an eye on that one. The other two seemed rather harmless. Maybe the hired gun had just been dropped in with two non-accomplices, and planned to take her down when they weren't looking. Or maybe the other two were just really good actors.
Their team seemed to be after an actual killer of sorts. She doubted the assassin would be in a group looking for themselves, unless they were trying to throw off suspicion by doing so. Maybe they were after both her and the killer they were pursuing, and took multiple jobs at once or something. Perhaps they actually were pursuing themselves without realizing it, thinking they were pursuing a different killer? Hitmen were a complicated kind of people. Anything was possible with them. Maybe this suspicious girl was completely innocent, and just happened to be very suspicious? It seemed unlikely, but it was a possibility nonetheless. She'd still have to keep a watchful eye.
She continued glaring and failing to twirl the gun, before quickly mumbling. "The Last Gunslinger."

Making her way up to the temple, Penelope witnessed the scene that took place in front of the crowd. With a glimmering smile, she thought to herself A training area? It would be good to test this new body out before doing anything... dangerous. She proceeded to grope her breasts whilst she thought that.
Eyes locked on the player with the KYSERO bubble above his head, The EchidnCat pushed her way through the crowd up to the sniper. "KYSERO, I thought I'd find some sort of pirate spider forcing people to kill themselves. What a shame that is just another player."
Penelope then leaned over, allowing her breasts to hang and then spoke with a puppy dog face. "I'll take on your challenge, but be gentle please, I just started and am not familiar of all the mechanics just yet."

"The Last Gunslinger? Is that supposed to be a name that sounds really cool? ... Oh wow, that's so adorable! Yeah, I think you have a lot of potential..." Jiae said, impressed by how much potential cuteness this newcomer had. Yes, there was a proper term for this, though she couldn't think of the term for it... Someone who tried to act really cool, to the point of coming across as cute instead. Their uncute traits paradoxically becoming cute as a result. Yes, all of this made sense.
Now that all of them had a full party, it was time for them to begin the mission! ... The question was how. Yeah, she hadn't thought things through this far.
"Let's see if anything sticks out..."
Jiae takes a look around the surrounding area to see if she can miraculously find anything that might be related to the PKer.

Neutral Zone:
As they got a fourth member, Iphigenia paused in thought for a moment. Then said, as she got up from the bench and stretched.
"I nixed this plan earlier but I admit to not having any better ideas- how about we see what some of the higher-level players are saying? They'd probably have more reliable information channels than the average player, after all. KYSERO is here in the Neutral Zone last I checked." She gave the group a shrug and cracked her neck. "he might be busy and also probably is going to demand something in exchange for information, but seems as good a place to start as any, honestly..."

"Hmph... so many people tried. But in the end... they all failed."
The sword was readied. It was time to engage. ~xXxRE4PERxXx777~ grinned in anticipation. This would be goood.
"The ammo of these suckers is better spent on us anyway. Let's grab some."
She started dashing forward, towards the dropped loot.
